Stockholm – Antalet privata mobila enheter – till exempel smartphones och surfplattor – som ansluts till företagsnätverk har mer än fördubblats under de senaste två åren. Det visar en ny undersökning* från säkerhetsföretaget Check Point® Software Technologies. Enligt rapporten The Impact of Mobile Devices on Information Security, tror 71 procent av företagen att mobila enheter har bidragit till en ökning av antalet säkerhetsincidenter inom organisationen. 

Rapporten belyser en stor oro som finns över riskerna för dataförluster på grund av att känslig företagsinformation lagras på anställdas privata enheter. Den vanligaste typen av sådan information som angavs var företagets e-post (79 procent), affärskontakter (65 procent), kunddata (47 procent) och inloggningsuppgifter till organisationens nätverk (38 procent).

– Allt fler privata smartphones och surfplattor ansluts till företagsnätverken, vilket skapar en större risk för dataförluster och gör säkerhetshanteringen mer komplex. Den här utvecklingen kommer även att fortsätta under 2012. Alla företag bör se över sin säkerhetspolicy och säkerställa att det finns regler och rutiner för hur anställda kan fjärransluta till företagets nätverk på ett säkert sätt, säger Lars Berggren, country manager Check Point Sverige.

Allt fler mobila enheter ansluts till företagets nätverk – Omkring 94 procent av de tillfrågade företagen svarar att ett ökat antal privata mobila enheter ansluts till företagets nätverk och 78 procent svarar att antalet enheter mer än fördubblats under de senaste två åren.

De vanligaste mobila enheterna – De typer av mobila enheter som oftast ansluts till företagets nätverk var Apple (30 procent), BlackBerry (29 procent) och Android (21 procent). Den plattform som hade lägst förtroende i undersökningen var Android, då 43 procent svarade att de tror att dessa enheter utgör en större säkerhetsrisk än andra.

Anställdas beteende påverkar säkerheten – Bristen på säkerhetsmedvetenhet bland de anställda ansågs vara den största faktorn som påverkar mobil data (62 procent), följt av osäkert mobilsurfande (61 procent), osäkra Wi-Fi-anslutningar (59 procent), borttappade eller stulna enheter (58 procent) samt nedladdning av mobila applikationer med skadlig kod (57 procent).

CHECK POINT SURVEY REVEALS 71 PERCENT OF BUSINESSES ADMIT MOBILE DEVICES HAVE INCREASED SECURITY INCIDENTS

(Nasdaq: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, has announced the results of a new report revealing the number of personal mobile devices connecting to the corporate network has more than doubled in the past two years – with nearly half of devices storing sensitive data. The report, The Impact of Mobile Devices on Information Security, shows 71 percent of businesses believe mobile devices have caused an increase in security incidents, citing significant concerns about the loss and privacy of sensitive information stored on employee devices, including corporate email (79%), customer data (47%) and network login credentials (38%).

Smartphones and tablet PCs continue to proliferate in corporate environments, presenting significant business benefits such as increased work efficiency and easy access to resources. While businesses are steadily accepting this trend, IT administrators struggle with securing the abundance of devices and operating systems, while also protecting their organization against data loss and the rise in mobile threats.

• Correlation between Rise in Mobile Devices and Security Incidents – Approximately 71% of businesses believe smartphones and tablet PCs have contributed to an increase in number of security events in their organizations within the past two years.
• Many Mobile Devices Store Sensitive Customer and Business Data – Personal and corporate owned devices often store and access a variety of sensitive information including email (79%), customer data (47%) and login credentials (38%) for internal databases or business applications.
