Johannesburg, January 30, 2012 – NEC Corporation announced today the appointment of Mr Masahiro Yoshikawa as President of NEC Africa (Pty) Ltd which is a 100% subsidiary of NEC Europe Ltd, the regional headquarters in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Mr Yoshikawa will lead NEC’s sub-Saharan African business from its new sub-regional headquarters in Johannesburg, South Africa. NEC Africa will establish its branch offices in Nairobi, Kenya and in Lagos, Nigeria.
Across the sub-Saharan market, NEC provides its customers in the telecoms, public and enterprise sectors with public safety solutions including identification systems, network solutions, social infrastructure solutions and cloud computing solutions.

Mr Yoshikawa has over 30 years’ experience providing solutions and services to customers around the world and across Africa in the IT and telecoms industry. Most recently he led the business for Middle East and African market as Deputy General Manager and has worked at the International Sales and Operations Business Unit, NEC Corporation.
