At long last we’re releasing the last major update of Microproject 1.5. An all new task creation and message work flow and a cleaned up and significantly better list-view.
We felt early on the need to rid ourselves of the tabs in the list view to simplify overview of tasks and as time went by many of you reported a lack of task planning when using Microproject as an overview tool when each timebar in the calendar represented a longer running project timelines rather than single tasks within a specific project.
The new list view is entirely without tabs and sports an all new fast task creation feature. It also has a free text search field as well as a participant filter to quickly find tasks connected to a specific tag and/or person.
We’ve also ditched the unplanned, planned and completed categories. Now you you can simply decide to not assign a person or a starting date to a task and it will be visible in the list view but not assigned in the time line until you drag it out there to a specific participant.
Tasks and messages now come up in a separate pop-up rather than in the right hand view and the message workflow is much clearer.
The all new feature is the ability to add to-do lists connected to each task. Again, when you use the Microproject as an overview planning tool with several different projects represented in the timeline you will need to add smaller tasks like bug-lists etc connected to each project. This could be bug-lists or feedback from a customer about a website under construction. In short smaller tasks that requires little work but that needs to be ticked off all the same.
Just like tasks to-dos can be managed by drag and drop and ticked off as completed either in the task/message pop-up or directly in the list view and each main task displays how many to-dos are still uncomplete in a to-do list.
We’ve recorded some quick tutorials/walk-throughs to be found here and we will record more in the weeks to come.
We’ve found the new work flow so much better in our own project planning and we hope that you’ll find that improves yours as much.
Stand by for more announcements.
