5th August 2010 – Oslo, Norway – First Hotels, one of Scandinavia’s leading hotel chains, and The Cloud, the leading European independent Wi-Fi provider, today announces an agreement regarding high capacity wireless broadband at hotels across Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

The Cloud will, starting immediately, roll out the open wireless service platform at First Hotels across all markets. Visitors at First Hotels will after the launch, experience an enhanced support for Smartphones and also the access to a wide rage of service providers including Telenor and Tele2.

Julius Hansson, IT Manager at First Hotels: ”Being a leading hotel chain in Scandinavia, it is important for us to provide, not only the many laptop users, but also the growing number of iPhone and other Smartphone users, a premium wireless broadband service when staying at our hotels.” He continues; ”Our view is that the agreement with The Cloud will allow both our customers and ourselves to fully benefit from the next generation wireless broadband services.”

The Cloud is now offering wireless broadband services at more than 1500 premium hotels across Europe. From The Cloud’s perspective the market is moving very rapidly towards the fully integrated wireless broadband user experience.

He continues; ”This will in our view have the consequence that the high performance wireless networks we build will become an integrated part of the customer propositions for mobile data that service providers offers. In support of this trend, a number of service providers already offer Wi-Fi as an integrated part of their mobile data packages offering customers an ‘always best connected’ proposition.
