Atmel has selected the Swedish tracing tool developer Percepio AB as one of its collaborators in today’s launch of Atmel Gallery at the Electronica fair in Munich. Other collaborating partners include well-known brands such as FreeRTOS and Keil.

Percepio founder and CEO Dr. Johan Kraft comments: ”We are honored in this recognition from a leading silicon vendor. Atmel Gallery sounded like a good initiative and we are happy to contribute. This will allow more developers to discover FreeRTOS+Trace.”

Atmel Gallery is an app store where Atmel Studio users can download free extensions and purchase licenses for premium extensions. Atmel Studio is Atmel’s free development environment targeting ARM and AVR microcontrollers from Atmel.

Percepio contributes with a new version of FreeRTOS+Trace that integrates in Atmel Studio. FreeRTOS+Trace is a powerful trace diagnostics tool for FreeRTOS with an amazing visualization system featuring 20+ interconnected views, giving an unprecedented insight into the runtime world. This allows for higher quality firmware, faster troubleshooting and for finding new ways of optimizing software performance.

FreeRTOS is a highly popular open source real-time operating system developed and maintained by Real Time Engineers ltd. Percepio is a partner of the FreeRTOS project within the FreeRTOS+ partner program for commercial add-ons supporting FreeRTOS. Atmel now includes FreeRTOS in Atmel Software Framework and demos projects are provided that make it easy to get started.
