Stockholm, October 6 – Today self scanning is just as easy for the 300,000 customers of Webhallen as it is to buy groceries with self scanning at any supermarket. At Webhallen you shop directly from the website with your mobile by scanning the QR -code next to the product you intend to buy.
Customers only need to download the Payair mobile application and register one or several bank cards with Payair. The cards will then be available in a digital format in your mobile instead of physically in your wallet. All customer data is stored on a secure server and all communication between the mobile and the server is encrypted.
Then just go to the Webhallen website, when you found the product or products you want to buy choose ”pay with your mobile” and scan the QR-code, the item is then put in the shopping cart of the Payair application in your mobile. Enter your PIN-code, choose the debit card you want to use for the purchase, verify delivery address and finally accept the withdrawal.
” The Payair mobile payment solution have several advantages in addition to being fast and simple. Most importantly it minimizes the requirements on the customer to enter personal information when shopping on-line as well not having to expose your credit card information openly on the net. Both are common reasons for not completing or postponing an on-line purchase. I am convinced our customers soon will realize that shopping on-line will now become even more convenient which will have a positive impact on customer loyalty as well as impulse buying.” says Wille Sporrong, CEO Webhallen
QR-codes, quick – response codes were originally developed by the automotive industry in Japan to manage logistics of auto components. It is a 2-dimensional bar-code allowing handling large quantities of information, up to 7000 characters. QR-codes are increasingly being used for a number of other purposes as for example in marketing. Payair is now introducing a new concept by using the QR-code for also completing the financial transaction
”Our service blurs the border between sales and traditional advertising. By applying QR-codes in ads, direct mail, sales promotion materials, and billboards these passive communication channels become selling advertising in their own sense. Swedish businesses invest billions of SEK in print media which often has a very long lifespan, with QR-codes your advertising also becomes active and measurable Point of Sales” – says Staffan Ljung, CEO Payair.
