Strengthening consumer appetites, a resurgent demand for commodities, and reduced debt loads have African economies firing on all cylinders. The democratically elected president, Alassan Ouattara has put an ambition 5 year plan in action which goal is to make Côte d’Ivoire an emerging economy by 2020.
The objective is to mobilize 136 billion SEK for this vast endeavor. Planned investments: in education, public school, youth and sports (8 billon SEK), agriculture (15 billion SEK), social housing in Abidjan (272 million SEK/year).
