Easy connection and control for iPhone and iPad users offering direct projection of many content formats
ISE, Amsterdam 29th January 2013 – Hitachi Digital Media Group announces the introduction of Projector Quick Connection for iOS offering both iPhone and iPad users the ultimate in easy connectivity and projector control. Multimode allows connection of up to 4 devices at the same time, any of which can display a wide range of contents including images and web pages, as well as Apple iWork, Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF formats.
"The new Projector Quick Connection for iOS provides simplicity for users," said Axel Kutschke, Senior Manager, Presentation Products for Hitachi Digital Media Group. "Connecting to a projector, controlling it and adjusting its settings are now achieved through the simple interface that is used by tens of millions of people worldwide. The same interface makes the projection of documents in Office, iWork or PDF formats as well as web pages and images, quick and intuitive whether direct from the device or even from cloud storage."
Suitable for use with all current wireless projectors, the new software ensures easy connection from the device via the tap of an icon or two. In the unlikely event that the desired projector is not found it can also be added manually.
Once connected, documents in a wide range of formats can be projected at the touch of a button. Powerpoint (.ppt and .pptx), Excel (.xls and .xlsx) and Word (.doc and .docx) as well as Keynote, Numbers and Pages can all be displayed along with PDF documents with just a tap or two. Another tap opens the images viewer which can display JPEG or BMP images as well as accessing the iOS Photo App. Another tap opens Safari, which enables direct projection of web pages and even the manipulation of Bookmarks. Files can also be accessed and displayed directly to the projector from common cloud storage platform such as Dropbox and Evernote or even via email.
Control functions include stand-by, audio mute and volume as well as blank and freeze. Full customisable control of input selection from a wide range of options is also delivered from the same window.
The settings interface allows two modes of operation; either Presenter Mode where one device has sole access to the projector or multi-mode or Moderator Control Mode which allows up to four devices to be connected simultaneously.
Projector Quick Connection for iOS is available immediately.
