SANTA
CLARA, Calif.-June 18, 2013-Apica, a leading performance testing and monitoring provider
for cloud, web,and mobile
applications, presents its latest integration with
AppDynamics at the O’Reilly Velocity 2013 Conferencebeing
held June 18-20, 2013 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara,
Calif. AppDynamics’ real-time application
monitoring, combined with the Apica suite of
performance testing software-as-a-service (SaaS), provides
advanced end-user experience monitoring and scalability
testing for web, cloud, and mobile applications. The
latestAppDynamics integration from Apica offers more
detailedvisibility into distributed applications and enables a faster and
more accurate root cause analysis using synthetic transaction tagging.
”Companies today can
encounter performance problems anywhere in their web or mobile
applications-in the app itself, in the browser, or on the back end,” says
Sven Hammar, CEO of Apica. ”Users expect a fast and reliable experience from
any device both during normal and peak traffic. Every second of delay
can cost businesses valuable customers and revenue. Together with
AppDynamics, we are providingorganizations with a completely
transparent 24/7 solution to identify bottlenecks in the application as well as
in the browser. By viewing the individual synthetic browser
transactions and correlating them with the inside metrics, we are
empowering IT teams to take exact measures to improve performance.”
Performance
testing, both as part of the development process as well as in the production
environment, ensures that problems are quickly identified and
resolved. AppDynamicsand Apica’s SaaS provides a
user-friendly view into how an application is performing from the
end-user perspective. Now with
the latest integration with AppDynamics, Apica
synthetictest transactions can be monitored down to
the application calllevel. A specific transaction can
be traced to show the exactperformance of a complex
distributed application, includingthird-party integrations and database call response
times. This will enable businesses to isolate and address performance problems
more quickly, before they can impact onlinereputation
or revenue. E-commerce applications can now be regularly tested with
real transactions for both functional and scalability verification.
DevOps can
access the Apica SaaS portal directly from a webor
mobile browser. The architectural configuration can be adjusted from
day-to-day operations to plan for extreme peaks of traffic as necessary. The
same scripts can be used in both Apica LoadTest for stress testing and in Apica WebPerformance to measure end-user response times. Performance
trends can be measured and analyzed over time from more than 120
locations worldwide, triggering alarms oralerts if there is any service
degradation.
”AppDynamics is tremendous for
monitoring applications in production, but our customers still need a
premier solution for testing the application in development and ensuring that
the development app can handle sufficient load,” says BhaskarSunkara,
Director of Product Management for AppDynamics. ”Apica is our
preferred partner for helping our customers test and optimize their
applications prior to being migrated into production.”
Apica is exhibiting at
the O’Reilly Velocity 2013 Conference in booth #414.
